Today’s posting is a bit photo intensive.  I took well over 150 photos (thank God for digital cameras!) and have posted the most interesting 10.  These will take some time to load, maybe minutes if you have a slow server.  Wait for em’!

July 12   Day 18

We went back into Yellowstone NP this morning and headed north to Mammoth Hot Springs.  The terraces that were created by the hot springs were quite something to see.  Of course, it was well into the 80’s while we walked around this area, and we both got a bit dehydrated.  Lesson learned!

We then headed south to Old Faithful, about 30 miles away.  We saw many buffalo and elk again, as well as some fantastic scenery.  Old Faithful erupts about every 94 minutes, and we got there about 15 minutes before it went off.  Wicked good timing!  We stopped at a lot of hot springs, pools, fumaroles, and smaller geysers on the way back to the hotel.

Tomorrow it’s Grand Teton NP.  We’re going to try to get a campsite inside the park.  Keep your fingers crossed!  Weather report is for 92 degree temps.
