11/27/05  Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving has come and gone, and like a lot of you, we had a snowy day.  Ours, of course, didn’t melt, and we’ve got a good foot of snow on the ground now.  The commute home from work on Wednesday evening before turkey day was interesting.  They hadn’t plowed the road up the mountain to my house, and while I don’t usually get bogged down in 6 inches of show, the last hair-pin switch-back in the road almost got me.

Winter is in full swing here; I’ve been skating, and went cross-country skiing this weekend for the first time.  Boy, did that remind me of some muscles I haven’t used in a while!

It’s been weeks since we’ve seen a day above freezing, and this weekend had high temps around 5 or so.  It’ll be around zero tonight.  Daylight is fading fast; sunrise isn’t till 9:40 and sunset is 3:55.  I don’t get any direct sunlight at the house now due to the mountains, and probably won’t again until sometime in February.  Ah, but those endless days of summer~~

Here are a few photos I took around the house and while I was skiing this weekend.
